AFC Half Marathon, San Diego

I am responsible to carry the message. My name is Kirk and as an athlete in sobriety, during my newly sober travels running and racing, I have discovered a niche my higher power has directed for me to use his strength to fill. It is my interest to possibly have a special interest meeting on the weekend of the America's Finest City 1/2 Marathon. The event is being held over the weekend of August 19, 20 & 21. My wife and I are leaving our home-group meetings in Murrieta, Ca. to attend the Expo over the weekend, and compete in the race on the Sunday. Attending meetings in the areas we travel to compete on a regular basis, we find ourselves going to any length to maintain our daily sobriety. Often at a race, we are pressed to attend a meeting and accomplish the Expo, travel and meetings as well as compete a the level we enjoy. Our interest after meeting many friends of Bill W at meetings in these areas, is to hold a temporary meeting in the hotels where we stay or somewhere close, for the athletes attending the expo and race. After contacting Central Office in New York, they pretty much left it to our local offices. That would be you. HELP. Kirk D
